This week is your last chance to apply for Little Pictures – a new micro-budget short film commissioning scheme from GMAC Film funded by Screen Scotland.

Little Pictures is for people of all ages from 16 years old and over. GMAC Film is welcoming people from under-represented backgrounds – who haven’t yet made a film or who have not been funded to make a film before – to apply.

The new scheme will commission six new short films from new filmmakers across Scotland and is committed to having 50% of these short film projects created by women.

Little Pictures will encourage new and emerging filmmakers to find their voice and challenge themselves creatively by offering them up to £2k cash each to make their first short film. The filmmakers will also receive further training and information on commissioning and employment opportunities to help kickstart their careers in the Scottish film industry.

Little Pictures welcomes applications from the following under-represented groups:

  • The top 20% areas according to the Scottish Index of Multiple Depravation
  • Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic
  • People with disabilities
  • Care Experienced
  • LGBTQI+
  • Rurally Excluded

Applications to, and participation in, Little Pictures is free. All applicants can apply with a written application form or with 3 minute video or audio recording telling GMAC Film about the film they would like to make.

Applications must be submitted before 5pm on Thursday 8th October.

If you require further support with your application please contact GMAC Film on littlepictures@gmacfilm.com or call the application enquiry line on 0141 553 5400 (open every Thursday between 10am and 6pm).
