Convergence 2022 is Open for Applications!

Applications are now open for Convergence, our programme aimed at professional writers working in other fields who would like to translate their skills into writing for screen.

Following the success of our 2021 programme, Convergence – led by Script Consultant and Screenwriter, David Pope – is back for a second year to encourage another group of talented Scottish-based creatives to learn the fundamentals of screenwriting shorts and feature films.

Short Circuit will select up to eight applicants who will develop their screenwriting skills and industry knowledge through online development workshops, peer group discussions, masterclasses and 1-2-1 sessions.

“As an artist transitioning from one medium to another, Convergence was the first step on the road to feeling like a legitimate filmmaker. Receiving generous feedback, guidance and support from both David and our talented cohort undoubtedly improved and elevated my work, while giving me the confidence I’ve needed to keep pushing ahead with my career”.
