Short Circuit is now live!

Short Circuit is a brand new film talent development programme for emerging Scottish talent, delivered by Film City Futures in partnership with Glasgow Film, and supported by Screen Scotland and BFI NETWORK.

Short Circuit aims to become a fundamental area of support for emerging fiction filmmaking talent in Scotland – encouraging writers, directors and producers from across Scotland to develop creatively and professionally.

It’s an exciting time for both shorts and features, and Short Circuit will encourage Scotland-based creatives to take advantage of the host of opportunities around the world. We want to help the new crop of Scottish filmmakers to establish themselves globally and make their mark on the international film industry.

Sharp Shorts is our short scripted film strand, open to new and emerging filmmakers in Scotland. Applications will open on 20th May for writers, directors, writer/directors or filmmaking teams to submit a one-page outline of their film idea.

First Features is an opportunity for first time feature filmmakers to develop their script to a polished first draft. Up to five projects per year will be selected for development. We will shortly be announcing details of this opportunity, so please join our mailing list to stay informed.

We will soon be announcing a series of virtual events, screenings and surgeries to provide advice and information and help get the creative juices going. Subscribe to our newsletter to make sure you hear of opportunities straight away.
