Dania Bdeir is a multi-award-winning Lebanese-Canadian filmmaker whose most recent film\u00a0Warsha<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was\u00a0one of the most successful shorts on the global festival circuit of\u00a0the last year.\u00a0Warsha<\/em>\u00a0premiered at Sundance 2022, where it won the Jury Prize for International Short Fiction. It followed this with a run of 260+ festival selections, including SXSW, Palm Springs ShortFest and Rotterdam, 90+\u00a0awards (& counting!), and it was shortlisted for the Academy Awards. Before this,\u00a0Dania’s NYU graduation film\u00a0In White<\/em>\u00a0received the Spike Lee Production Fund and premiered at Clermont-Ferrand.\u00a0She is now working on her feature debut,\u00a0Pigeon Wars<\/em>, which was selected for the 2023 Sundance Screenwriters Lab.<\/p>\n Dania will be joining us for a Masterclass\u00a0in which she’ll\u00a0discuss\u00a0her work and career path\u00a0to date, in collaboration with Short Circuit, and supported by British Council as part of GSFF23’s Lebanese Focus.<\/p>\n You can watch\u00a0Warsha<\/em>\u00a0in the programme\u00a0Trapped<\/a>\u00a0on Friday 24 March at 20.15 in CCA\u00a0Cinema, and the programme\u00a0Find Your Way<\/a>\u00a0on Thursday 23 March at 19.00 in CCA Theatre.<\/p>\n This is a free event.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n
